Unforgotten

I am trapped behind the closed door

‘Let me in’, I scream, but nobody hears

The echo that my voice fears,

And as I lay down on the floor

The mystic smoke covers my eyes,

Killing all the little lies.

‘Let me in’, I scream again,

Let me in my childhood room

Where there’s no more pain

In the only unforgotten room.

“Life is the childhood of our immortality.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
